What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a Private Chef?
A private chef is employed by one household, and is often “living in” as well as earning a salary. A Personal Chef serves several clients, one to two per day, and provides multiple meals that are custom designed for the client’s particular requests and dietary requirements. These meals are packaged and stored so that the client may enjoy them at their convenience.

How long does it take?
The chef will be cooking several different entrees and side dishes, so it will take several hours. We are totally flexible to work with your schedule or situation, and make arrangements in advance so that the cooking date is convenient for you.

Do I heat the food?
Yes. Some entrees are refrigerated, and some are frozen. Refrigerated entrees just need to be heated up, while frozen entrees should be defrosted overnight in your refrigerator, heated, and enjoyed when you like. Don't worry, we’ll leave you with easy to follow heating instructions for each entree.

How much freezer space do you need?
It depends on the number of meals you request, and the sizes of the containers, but it does generally require a considerable amount of freezer space. We should take a look at your freezer to see just how much room you have available. We can then decide which containers are best for your particular situation.

How often will we need your service?
We’ll be happy to help you determine just how often you will want to schedule our services to best suit your situation, as every one of our client's needs are different. We'll make sure it supports your busy lifestyle without putting any pressure on you.

Is it expensive? I thought a personal chef service is only for the uber-wealthy.

Not so! It’s quite affordable when you total up all the money spent during a night out at a restaurant, or three or four days of eating take-out food. It really adds up, and rarely provides that personalized service that you, their client, deserves! We can also help you save money by eliminating the all-too-familiar task of throwing away unused food that's been sitting in your refrigerator was too long waiting for you to cook it. You may have had good intentions...but not enough time or desire to prepare them. That's all wasted money going out into the trash!

Although our fees are expressed per your selected service, they actually represent all of the components that make up your personalized meal plan. For example, the assessment process that we complete to determine your likes, needs, special dietary requirements and requests is used to customize your menu selections.

The chef modifies all of his recipes to reflect your wants and needs, and meal selections are submitted for your approval. All of the groceries are then purchased on your cook date, and then your meals are all prepared in the safety of your own kitchen. Plus, packaging, labeling and storing your entrees are all features included in this price.

How would you compare eating in a restaurant or take-out place to having Our Little Secret PCS prepare my meals at home?
If you were to compare a personal chef service to restaurant service you could think of it this way...For a restaurant:

You must drive to get there, often battling traffic, paying tolls, and using expensive gasoline
Find a parking space, or pay for valet parking or a parking garage
Wait for a table
Compete with a loud environment
Take a chance that your server is having a good day
If you have allergies or special requests you don’t always have the guarantee that they will be honored
Most entrees are “assembly line” ready in the kitchen, ready and waiting to be plated, losing their flavor and nutritional value as each hour passes
Wait for the meal to be completed and brought to your table, hopefully hot
You must tip the server, good service or not-so-good
Get back in your vehicle to drive home
